TRC commission of inquiry

JOHANNESBURG - After lawyers for former presidents Jacob Zuma and Thabo Mbeki presented their arguments, legal teams representing President Cyril Ramaphosa and the commission are expected to respond on Tuesday.
The former presidents have asked the High Court in Johannesburg to order Justice Sisi Khampepe, Chairperson of the TRC Cases Inquiry, to step down.
Their lawyers argue she may be conflicted due to her previous roles at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and later at the National Prosecuting Authority.
Mbeki’s legal representative said the chairperson must be seen to be independent.
