Tshwane MMC for Corporate and Shared Services Kholofelo Morodi
PRETORIA - Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya has removed Corporate and Shared Services MMC Kholofelo Morodi. Moya found Morodi's response to the Madlanga Commission's concerns as inadequate. Morodi was suspended last week following allegations of tender fraud. She was then afforded an opportunity to provide written representations to the mayor in respect of the issues raised before the Madlanga Commission. READ: Malema, Morodi implicated in tender rigging at Madlanga Commission Although no formal finding of wrongdoing has been made, the mayor referenced questionable conduct and an inappropriate relationship with Sergeant Fannie Nkosi. "I have carefully considered her response together with the information available to me, including relevant communication records submitted to the Commission," Moya said. "Based on this assessment, I am not satisfied that the concerns raised have been adequately addressed. The material before me reflects a pattern of engagement and conduct over an extended period, including an inappropriate relationship between Cllr Morodi and Sergeant Nkosi, which raises serious concerns regarding the handling of information and adherence to the standards expected of members of the executive." Hannes Coetzee, who is the current Community Safety MMC, has been appointed as acting Corporate and Shared Services MMC with immediate effect. The city says the move is aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the city's governance processes.
